Kestrel Most Common Small Hawk The kestrel is the most common small hawk we have around here and can usually he seen silting 011 telephone wires along our roadways. Often you'll see it hovering, over one spot in the field as it gets reads to drop on some unsuspecting mouse or vole. The only other small hit'd that hovers like this is the kingfisher and he does his act over the water. The picture you see here is of a young kestrel that someone brought to us and my son raised.
